Now puppies can be imported to
United Kingdom and Ireland from 1-1-2012
New requirements from 1 January 2012 for travel to the UK with other E.U. countries
From 1 January 2012, dogs, cats and ferrets to be with the UK meet these requirements:
• Valid identification
• A valid rabies vaccination
• The EU pet passport
• NOTE - The animal must be imported into the UK via an approved route
Identification and vaccination are linked
Id marking of the animal must happen before or simultaneously with vaccination against rabies. If immunization date is older than the identification date, the animal will be perceived as unvaccinated, unless there is unequivocal evidence of previous vaccination and traceability of animal identification.
Valid rabies vaccination
For travel within the EU, to countries with EU policies and the EU (Denmark) from third countries, the first rabies vaccination be made be made at least 21 days before departure. |
